Founded in 2018 by Steve Bussey, Marlinmedia Limited is new and professional provider of wide range of private and commercial ground and aerial photography services in Chippenham and across the South West. Marlinmedia operates two distinctive unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s/Drones).
The DJI Inspire 1 Pro Black works in conjunction with the DJI Zenmuse X5 Gimbal and lens. The Zenmuse X5 is the world’s first mirrorless, compact Micro Four Thirds camera made specifically for aerial photography and cinematography. Designed to work with the DJI Inspire 1 ready-to-fly platform, the Zenmuse X5 packs a powerful sensor that’s capable of recording 4K videos at up to 30 fps and capturing still images at 16MP.
The Inspire 1 Pro is the larger of the two drones used by Marlinmedia. As such, it has a reduced flight time of 20 minutes, but with additional power on hand, flight time capacity can be increased to over an hour.
The Phantom 4 Pro+ is equipped with a 1-inch 20-megapixel sensor capable of shooting 4K/60fps video and Burst Mode stills at 14 fps. The Flight Autonomy system adds dual rear vision sensors and infrared sensing systems for a total of 5-direction of obstacle sensing and 4-direction of obstacle avoidance. The Phantom 4 Pro is smaller and lighter than the Inspire, so is ideal for the hard to get to jobs that require versatility over size. With 30 minute flight time per battery, the Phantom 4 Pro lives up to its professional credentials.

Our aerial work is carried out using ‘Drones’ so we are able to work in areas that full size helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft cannot fly and consequently offer greater operational flexibility for low level work from 2ft (0.61m) to 400ft (122m).
We hold a valid Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) permission (PfCO), CAA ID UAS6436, to conduct aerial work and have public liability insurance for up to £2 million in place, both legally required to operate Drones within UK airspace. Our PfCO also permits us to fly at night.
One important part of our job is to regularly maintain and test our drones, especially after any firmware update. We are fortunate to have the use of some open farmland so have a secure, safe environment to test or drones in. It also gives us the opportunity to try different moves and settings. This image was taken on our last test session. With virtually no wind the conditions were perfect and views fantastic.
